Mission & Vision

Governance

JMMAS operates as a democratic IMMAF standards compliant under the governance framework of IMMAF. IMMAF provides rules, regulations and governance, structured progression pathways, educational systems and licensing, which are developed democratically through the IMMAF elected board, expert committees and member platforms including General Assemblies, Technical Seminars and other forums.

Strategic Plan

JMMAS aligns with the IMMAF Strategic Plan 2025 to 2030, which sets out a renewed and focused vision for the future of amateur MMA. The plan reinforces a clear and credible pathway toward wider international recognition, including the long-term ambition of Olympic inclusion, ensuring amateur MMA continues to grow with integrity and professionalism.

Anti-Doping

Anti-Doping is one of the mandatory integrity policies adopted and enforced by IMMAF. IMMAF is firmly committed to ensuring the sport of Mixed Martial Arts is fair and clean. IMMAF's Anti-Doping policy applies to all members, athletes, coaches and administrators. JMMAS as an supporter of all IMMAF standards adopts and enforces these same policies at the national level in Jamaica.

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation — the world governing body for amateur MMA has officially partnered with the International Testing Agency (ITA). The ITA manages the entire testing program for IMMAF, both for in-competition and out-of-competition doping controls. JMMAS applies IMMAF's anti-doping policy and works to implement key activities at the national level: education, information, testing, and results management — building the infrastructure of a world-class MMA organisation.

Safeguarding

JMMAS is committed to safeguarding all participants — athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers — from abuse, harassment, and exploitation in all its forms. We operate a zero-tolerance policy. JMMAS upholds and enforces IMMAF safeguarding standards in their entirety. We are steadfast in our commitment to advancing the sport in Jamaica in alignment with the highest international benchmarks.

Rules & Regulations

As an Applying IMMAF Standards organization, all JMMAS competitions are conducted under the official IMMAF Rules Book — upholding and enforcing IMMAF standards in their entirety. The IMMAF Regulatory Affairs Department completed the revision of the IMMAF Rules Book for 2025. JMMAS adopts and enforces all IMMAF competition rules, weight classes, judging criteria, and safety regulations at all JMMAS sanctioned events.

Membership

JMMAS welcomes athletes, coaches, gyms, and clubs to become official participants in the JMMAS network. Membership connects you to the national JMMAS network and through JMMAS to the global IMMAF framework — which spans 132 nations worldwide.
